Gretchen Whitmer ran for governor on the simplest promise imaginable: she’d fix Michigan’s crumbling roads. She kept that promise and delivered so much more. 

Under Whitmer’s leadership, Michigan has seen historic investments in infrastructure, education, and manufacturing. She secured deals that brought electric-vehicle factories to Michigan, protecting the state’s auto industry legacy while building its future. She cut taxes for working families and retirees, expanded mental health services, and protected abortion rights.

Whitmer’s leadership was tested early. She faced death threats and a kidnapping plot for her COVID response, yet never wavered. She worked across the aisle when possible and fought when necessary, always keeping her focus on helping Michiganders.
