KAMALA HARRIS

According to the Pew Research Center, Vice President Kamala Harris’ political rise lines up with key national demographic shifts in ethnicity and household structures, meaning more and more Americans can see themselves in her story.

Successfully inspiring and mobilizing all kinds of supporters propelled her 2020 campaign far beyond early predictions, ultimately landing her in The White House, although in a different role than she initially intended.

Harris’ selection can be seen as a nod to the progressive wing, as she’s pulled President Biden to the left on critical issues where she is more aligned with the values of the American people.

“The vice president’s ready to run and ready to be president, should that ever happen. I know our president has great confidence in her & so do I.”
Senator Chris Coons

As Vice President, Harris has not let up on the fights she first received attention for as California’s Attorney General and junior Senator, especially as Republicans enact a full-scale attack on the civil rights that define her personal and professional story. Her name is even etched in the history books for holding these assaults back, breaking the record for most tiebreaking votes in modern Senate history.
